N2L: Regan's romance, ch.14

Ayla returns to the stables to find Regan sharing a close moment with his ex-girlfriend Joan. She’s spent the night thinking about their relationship and knows he’s being emotionally abusive and his pill addiction is out of control. He introduces her as “Ayla”, and not his girlfriend, which upsets her, and Ayla thinks he wants to end their relationship. She goes upstairs to pack and he follows, where he asks her to stay, and they fall into bed. He ignores his back pain but she realizes he’s in pain anyway.

Thinking their relationship is back on track, their physical relationship begins to increase, and Ayla falls deeper in love with Regan. Regan confesses he loves her, but in the next few minutes, experiences enough pain to cause an argument between them.

Regan’s jealousy over Jared, the young man running the stables for him, causes a bigger argument and Ayla’s walks out again.
